President's Message
By Caren Murdock
Another exciting year for the Central Ohio AGA is underway. Our Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) is already hard at work planning for the upcoming months. Central Ohio AGA is lucky to have such dedicated volunteers who continue to improve our program year after year.
I want to extend a warm welcome to our new CEC volunteers, including Jay Easterling (President-Elect, Pohler and Associates, LLC), Nancy Barber (Community Service, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation), and Jim McLaughlin (Program Co-Chair, State Auditor’s Office).
One of our Chapter goals this year is to increase the number of FREE CPE hours offered to our members. This year, our Chapter will be providing more audio conferences hosted by National AGA. I am confident that you will find many educational events that will attract your interest, keep you abreast of current issues, and help satisfy your CPE requirements.
As always, the educational events will be posted on the website and email blasts will be sent throughout the program year. I want to encourage everyone to visit our website at www.coaga.org. You will find useful information such as membership information; educational opportunities; scholarships and award detail; executive committee members; sponsors; job postings and links to other associated sites.
Please remember we are always looking for new faces and ideas - consider volunteering throughout the year by participating in a sub-committee or accepting a future CEC role. This is your opportunity to have a voice in our educational and program events as well as promote the accounting profession. Feel free to contact a CEC member to express your interest in volunteering during the upcoming year.
I want to send a special thanks to Past-President Pat Wooldridge and the CEC members for their hard work and dedication this past year. I am honored to serve as your President this year and look forward to working with everyone. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
